TEHRAN - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has reacted to hostile remarks by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy against the Islamic Republic.

“The world has had enough of confused clowns,” wrote Araqchi on his X account.

“By abusing American and European taxpayers’ money, Zelenskyy fills the pockets of his corrupt generals under the pretext of confronting what he calls ‘illegal aggression in violation of the UN Charter’,” noted the top Iranian diplomat.

“In the meantime, he (Zelenskyy) shamelessly calls for the United States’ unlawful aggression against Iran, a move that is in contravention of the very same UN Charter,” Araqchi explained.

“Unlike your army, which relies on foreign support and which is rife with mercenaries, we Iranians know how to defend ourselves and do not need to beg foreigners for help,” the foreign minister said.

Araqchi’s comments followed Zelenskyy’s anti-Iran remarks during his address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he claimed that global inaction toward Iran was fueling mounting security threats and called for an end to the Iranian establishment’s rule.
